Abstract
1. A study has been made of the polycondensation of acid adipic esters of glycols, namely, the acid diadipic esters of ethylene glycol and of 1,20-eicosanediol. 2. It has been shown that acid esters of glycols are able to undergo polycondensation and form m polyesters. 3. It has been shown that in the polyesterification process the growth of the polyester chain occurs not only on account of reaction between terminal groups (direct esterification), but also on account of transesterification processes (alcoholysis and acidolysis). 4. A scheme has been proposed for the synthetic reactions occurring in the polyesterification process. 5. Acid esters of adipic acid - diadipic esters of ethylene glycol and of 1,20-eicosanediol - have been prepared
