Abstract

The current study focuses on nanocoating and its examination on HSS (tool bit) using the Physical Vapor Deposition technique. Multiwall Carbon nanotube (MWCNT) nanoparticles are deposited on an HSS Steel tool bit in this process to determine the enhancement and efficiency of the coatings. Various machining variables are used to compare uncoated and coated tool bits. During the procedure, many other process parameters such as surface roughness and tool wear were also studied out. The results show that after coating with Multiwall Carbon nanotube (MWCNT) the properties get improved and, it has been determined that the coated Multiwall Carbon nanotube (MWCNT) tool has a greater lifetime, wear resistance, hardness, and surface quality than the coated tool.
