Abstract
The mechanism of machine-tool self-excited vibration based on so-called coordinate interaction of dominant axes of stiffness is under consideration. It is shown that two of such simulated systems each being able to excite vibration can enter into mutual action resulting in considerable increase of vibration stability. Favourable adjustment of dominant axes can increase also metal-cutting tools durability. Favourable range of dominant axes orientation is experimentaly determined.
