Abstract

• The synthesized cupronickel Metal Matrix Composite (MMC) was machined through various unconventional machining processes. • The Material Removal Rate (MRR) was analyzed with their effect of parameters. • The parameter contribution was found through variance analysis. The required shape and size was obtained through machining process. In recent years, Unconventional machining processes are contributing large effect in metal manufacturing industries. It was used to machine very hard material with good dimensional accuracy and surface finish. In this work, the synthesized cupronickel Metal Matrix Composite (MMC) was machined through various unconventional machining processes such as Spark Erosion Machining (SEM) and Laser Beam Machining (LBM). In SEM process, the different input actors were used such as voltage, current and pulse on time. In LBM process, the various input factors have been considered such as cutting speed, laser power and Standoff Distance (SOD). The Material Removal Rate (MRR) was analyzed with their effect of parameters. The parameter contribution was found through variance analysis.
