Abstract
Abstract The velocity dependence of acoustic cut-off frequencies in rectangular ducts is briefly summarized, followed by a comparison with reported duct criticals in a flow test involving isolated cylinders in cross-flow. The agreement with the theory illustrates the importance of addressing the Mach number effects in moderate to high velocity services.
