Abstract

The Asian American Movement of the 1970s also instilled a rebirth of Asian traditions for people like myself. Cultural traditions were revived and readapted to give us a sense of pride and identity in where we came from. Potlucks were a mainstay of movement traditions because they embodied a communal spirit of sharing and eating together-basic components of building collective unity and strength.
