Abstract

Dilatation of lymph vessels in the aortic adventitia was observed in albino rats fed an atherogenic diet. The endothelial cells of the lymph vessels contained lipid droplets and many pinocytotic vesicles, as well as opened intercellular junctions. The role of lymph drainage in arteriosclerosis and the supposed mechanism of the pathological process are discussed.
