Abstract

BackgroundThe lung is a common site of metastasis in numerous cancers.ObjectiveTo present the incidence, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of pulmonary metastases.Materials and methodsReview of relevant literature via publicly available databases (including PubMed and Embase) and evaluation in a multidisciplinary expert panel.ResultsPulmonary metastasis requires differential and specialized radiologic and histopathologic evaluation. Numerous effective local ablative and systemic treatment modalities are available.ConclusionThis article provides a multidisciplinary focused review of diagnostic and treatment options for pulmonary metastases.
