Abstract

Abstract Luminescent iodido copper(I) coordination polymers [Cu 2 I 2 (PPh 3 ) 2 (μ-bpa)] n and [Cu 2 I 2 (PPh 3 ) 2 (μ-bpe)] n were synthesized and their luminescent properties were clarified (bpa: bis(4-pyridyl)ethane, bpe: trans -bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene). By taking advantage of their isomorphous relation, mixed-ligand luminescent coordination polymers [Cu 2 I 2 (PPh 3 ) 2 (bpa) (1- x ) (bpe) x ] n were prepared as solid solutions with various ratio of bpa:bpe. The measurements of their photophysical properties revealed that the mixed-ligand complexes are antenna materials where the bpa and bpe sites serve as the donor and the acceptor sites, respectively.
