Abstract
The syntheses, characterization, absorption spectra, luminescence spectra, luminescence lifetimes, and electrochemical behavior of 16 mono-, di-, tri-, and tetrametallic ruthenium(II) polypyridine complexes have been investigated. The general formulas of the complexes studied are RuL 2 (BL) 2+ , L 2 Ru(μ-BL)RuL 2 4+ , LRu(μ-BL)RuL 2 ] 2 6+ , and Ru[(μ-BL)RuL 2 ] 3 8+ , where L=2,2'-bipyridine or 2,2'-biquinoline and BL=2,3- or 2,5-bis(2-pyridyl)pyrazine
