Abstract

Neodymium (Nd3+) doped calcium barium phosphate glasses have been studied in different concentration of Nd3+ ions. The absorption and luminescence spectra, the Judd–Ofelt (JO) intensity parameters Ω2,4,6 and other radiative properties, which is radiative transition probabilities (AR), stimulated emission cross-sections (σ(λp) and branching ratios (βR) were calculated. These glass samples have shown strong absorption bands in the visible (VIS) and near-infrared (NIR) region. The emission spectra of glass samples have exhibited three emission transitions, which are assigned to 4F3/2→4I9/2, 4F3/2→4I11/2 and 4F3/2→4I13/2 transitions, respectively. Also, the results obtained were compared with reports on similar glasses.
