Abstract
A series of trivalent dysprosium-doped fluoroborate optical glasses were prepared through a melt quenching approach. Emission spectra of obtained glasses were examined with an excitation of 386 nm, it shows four emission peaks and were positioned at 481, 575, 662, and 753 nm corresponding to dysprosium ion. The decay lifetimes were estimated and were reduced with the rise of dysprosium ion doping concentration. The color coordinate values were determined through emission spectra, which were positioned at the white light emission region. Based on all these results, dysprosium ions doped fluoroborate optical glasses are much desirable for white light-emitting applications.
