Abstract

The most frequent neurological manifestation in SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus) is cognitive disorder, so lumbar disc herniation in SLE is uncommon. Disc herniation is a degenerative disc disorder (DDD) that is often correlated with aging. However it can caused by an inflammatory reaction. TNF-α (Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha) is an essential pro-inflammatory cytokine in DDD-related SLE. We present the case of a 26‐year‐old female with SLE and disc herniation L5-S1.
