<title>Uncertainty in fuzzy and partial logic in the context of electrical CAD</title>

Abstract

Uncertainty is a fundamental feature of the design process. Until the appearance of fuzzy logic only probabilistic models were available for dealing with uncertainty. In this paper an issue of uncertainty is considered based on fuzzy logic models and logic of partial information models - a new development in logic. The paper contains an overview of inference principles in fuzzy logic and partial logic as well as a classification of CAD system based on application of fuzzy logic. Examples of problem formulations in fuzzy logic and partial information logic are provided for the same problems and results are compared.
