Abstract

ABSTRACT A module approach is discussed for high-resolution imaging. The functionality of this module, based on a lkxlk real time CCD-imaging sensor requires new approaches in signal processing, timing working modes and interfacing. The implementation into an actual module is presented. With contactlessmeasuring dimension measurements can be done on objects which can or shall not be touched. The results of the measurementscan be used for counting, sorting, quality judgement and so on. One of the contactless measuring methos is the application ofimage capture devices using CCD-imaging sensors. An image sensor as such is interesting from the scientific and technical points of view. The actual use of such a device, however, requires a module, which drives the sensor and normalizes the output signal. In this paper we discuss some requirements for a module which incorporates a high resolution, real-time CCD image sensor, some constraints on the specifications and implementation into a real product.
