Abstract

ABSTRACT Dynamical arid fluctuation characteristics of radiation from a solid-state non-plane cavity nog laser were experimentallystudied under self-modulation lasing by variation of the system parameters, such as pump power, laser crystal temperature.magnetic field magjiitude. The effect of crystal temperature on frequency of self-modulation oscillations was determined. The.lflfilLCflCC of radiation ellipticity on the relaxation frequencies is discussed.keywords: solid-state ring laser, phase nonreciprocity, gyroscope, relaxation oscillations. 1. ENTRObUCTON Microchip solid-state ring lasers (SSRL) with semiconductor pumping have attracted considerable interest recently in tcrrns of g'roscope applications. In the free running regime they feature antiphase quasisinusoidal oscillations of the eountcrrunning waves intensities. The gyroscopic appIcability of these lasers is based on the relation between the fr&uencyof self-modulation oscillations and the rate of laser rotation (i.e., on phase nonreciprocity of cavity) [1]:
