Abstract

A low-sidelobe substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) leaky wave antenna (LWA) array with non-uniform transverse slots is proposed. By tuning the length of the radiating slot etched on the SIW, the sidelobe level of the design can be effectively reduced. A four-way SIW power divider with equal outputs of same phase and amplitude is designed to feed a four by one array. The proposed LWA array shows a low sidelobe level up to −28.4 dB and can scan within an angular range of 36° with frequency varying from 2.2 GHz to 3.0 GHz.
