Abstract

A simple quark model with a linear rising scalar confining potential and an additional Coulomb potential is discussed. The eigenvalues of the appropriate Dirac equation are studied with respect to variations of the quark bare mass and to the potential parameters. The model is able to account for the static properties of the nucleon.
