Abstract
The effects of Li2O-B2O3-SiO2 glass (LBS) on the sintering behavior, phase evolution, microstructure and microwave dielectric properties of the BaZn2Ti4O11 ceramic were studied in detail. The results show that LBS significantly lowers the sintering temperature of the BaZn2Ti4O11 ceramic from 1200 °C to 850 °C. Small amount of LBS promotes the sintering process of the BaZn2Ti4O11 ceramic and obtains excellent microwave dielectric properties. However, excessive LBS addition leads to the change of phase and growth of abnormal grain, destroying the compact microstructure and deteriorating the microwave dielectric properties of the BaZn2Ti4O11 ceramic. BaZn2Ti4O11 ceramic with 4∼6 wt.% LBS can be well sintered at 850 °C and shows excellent microwave dielectric properties: ϵr = 22.95∼24.92, Q×f = 27181∼31301 GHz.
