Highlights
Retrospective data collected from voluntary blood donation camps from January 2005 to December 2009 were analyzed
In the study period of five years, a total of 9,843 serum specimens were screened for the presence of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg)
Statistical analyses were performed with GraphPad Prism ver 5.0 (GraphPad Software Inc., San Diego, USA) by Chi-square test for trend and the analysis was considered to be significant at P < 0.05
Summary
Retrospective data collected from voluntary blood donation camps from January 2005 to December 2009 were analyzed. Blood donors were selected with strict adherence to the guidelines published by the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), India [7].
