Abstract

Two circuits are described which provide low power generation of high voltage staircase waveforms. Using power MOSFETs in a switching mode allows substantial power reduction and improved time domain response over linear amplifier drive circuits. Waveform characteristics can be accurately controlled at a low voltage point. Experimental results demonstrate operation to a 1 kV amplitude. >
