Abstract

A new CMOS voltage source is designed to provide a low-noise, high-PSRR, and positive temperature coefficient (TC) voltage reference, which is required to compose a regulator to compensate for the effect of temperature and supply-voltage variations in CMOS ring oscillators. With a TSMC 90 nm CMOS process, the proposed circuit improves the supply- and temperaturesensitivity of a CMOS inverter-based ring oscillator by more than 28 dB ±10% of VDD and by 30 dB from -40oC to 100oC, respectively.
