Abstract

AbstractNon‐destructive electrical and optical analysis of discrete electronic components can both reveal the details of the operating mechanisms and indicate comparative quality and hence imply reliability. The measurement of low frequency noise as a method of grading quality has been found to differentiate between samples of avalanche photodiodes, and there exists a clear correlation with the subsequent findings of a conventional destructive accelerated life‐test.
