Abstract

A set of four saddle coils has been added to TFTR. In addition, the TFTR Mirnov loop system has been enhanced through the addition of low drift analog integrators allowing direct, local measurement of the poloidal field. The upper frequency response of these systems is limited by the optical isolation electronics to 5 kHz. These new diagnostics are used for the detection and identification of low-frequency (or locked) MHD modes. Additionally, the integrated Mirnov coil signals can be used in the determination of the global equilibrium.
