Abstract
Dielectrophoretic (DEP) levitation and electrorotation experiments reveal the presence of an anomalous response in the low frequency, which is attributed to the surface charge of the particle. In this work, DEP levitation, electrorotation and micromotion (/spl mu/-motion) studies were carried out to get a better understanding of the charge effects. The results obtained, suggest that the anomaly in the low frequency DEP response is attributed to AC electrophoresis of the cell.
