Abstract

Charging and discharging currents in Nylon-6, 6 pure and KCl doped polymer films were prepared by the isothermal immersion technique. The effect of field strength and charging temperature on the charging and discharging currents was studied from quasi steady state currents, activation energies were also calculated from discharging currents by the initial rise method and are in good agreement with the energies calculated from the steady state current data. The dielectric loss data was evaluated from the discharging currents data using Hamon's approximation method.
