Abstract
The Author gives an overview of the lectures on Tatsachen des Bewusstseins held by Fichte at the University of Berlin between 1810 and 1814. Conceived as an introduction to Wissenschaftslehre, they are very important for understanding the language of late Fichte and his distinction between the absolute and the phenomenon. Starting from the versions of Tatsachen des Bewusstseins of 1810-11 and 1813, the Author attempts to outline their general function in relation to Fichte’s WL and transcendental logic (§ 2) and evaluate the “phenomenological” method that characterizes them (§ 3). Following the exposition of 1810-11, he then provides a general account of the lectures, divided into analysis of the facts of lower consciousness (§ 4) and analysis of the facts of higher consciousness (§ 5).
