Abstract

The complex magnetic flux density waveform of switched reluctance motor (SRM) leads to very difficult calculation of motor losses especially iron loss. In this paper, SRM’s losses are analyzed as the object of study, the working principle and base frequency of SRM are described, SRM’s losses are decomposed, and a detailed analysis of motor copper loss, mechanical loss and stray loss is proceeded. Iron loss especially under nonlinear magnetic flux waveform is studied, and calculation formulas and compensation coefficient of various losses are obtained at last.
