Abstract

In the context of an agro-export economic model that pollutes and depletes natural assets, such as water and soil, with serious health consequences for its population, developing participatory environmental planning processes in Uruguay, as well as implementing collaborative management, are key issues for ecological transition towards social justice, conservation and responsible use of natural resources. This article analyzes the participatory process carried out by Universidad de la República, towards the National Environmental Plan for Sustainable Development discussion, considering local actors’ priorities.
