Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical results of loop electrocalsurgical excision procedure (LEEP) in treating chronic cervicitis. Methods 180 cases of chronic cervicitis operating: LEEP from Aug.2005 to Mar.2007, diagnosed by biopsy OU anomaly cervix under the vaginoscopic assistance, wereretrospectively analyzed. The time of the operation, patients reactions and postoperative cervical wound healing were observed. Results Follow-up to 12 weeks, chronic cervicitis cure rate for a one-time 95.0%(114/120),intraoperative and postoperative complication rate of 14.2%(17/120).Conclusion LEEP is a safe, effective, feasible and cheap method in treating chronic cervicitis with few complications, and repeating surgeries or treating excessively can be avoided.
