Abstract

Don't let the title of Monique Frize's new book, The Bold and the Brave: A History of Women in Science and Engineering, confuse you: the book looks forward into women's futures as much as it looks back. While the book spans 2,000 years of philosophers and thinkers with differing views on women's abilities and rights to education, “I wanted people to know that it's not a question of period or time,” says the author. “People don't think that women's inequality continues to be an issue and I wanted to demonstrate that it is still going on.”
