Abstract

Objective To analyze the long-term efficacy of procedure for prolapsing hemorrhoids (PPH) combined with partial anal internal sphincterectomy in the treatment of severe mixed hemorrhoids. Methods Sixty-eight patients with severe mixed hemorrhoids in Department of Anorectal Surgery of Jinan Third People’s Hospital from February 2018 to November 2018 were randomly divided into control group and study group, with 34 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine treatment, while the study group was treated with PPH and partial internal anal sphincterotomy. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results The incidence of adverse events in the control group was higher than that in the study group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). The healing time, thread removal time, operation time in control group were more than those in study group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). The recurrence rate in the control group was higher than that in the study group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusions PPH combined with partial internal anal sphincterotomy has remarkable effects in the treatment of severe mixed hemorrhoids patients, so it is worthy of clinical application and promotion. Key words: Mixed hemorrhoids; Myotomy; Procedure for prolapsing hemorrhoids
