Abstract

AbstractThe objective of this paper is to control the speed of electric vehicle according to the speed limit on roads. To achieve this, a model is developed in MATLAB Simulink for the longitudinal speed control of electric vehicle. The longitudinal driver is used as a controller and the three main techniques under longitudinal driver block, namely PI, Scheduled PI, and Predictive speed tracking controller are used to track the reference speed limit. The comparative study depicts that predictive speed tracking control provides better response among the three techniques.KeywordsLongitudinal speed controlPI controllerPredictive controlElectric vehicle
