Abstract

(Abstracted from Anesthesiology, 125(6):1159–1170, 2016) Anesthesia exposure at a young age in animal models has been associated with brain cell death. However, recent human studies have indicated no identifiable neurocognitive deficits in children after short-duration exposure to general anesthesia in infancy.
