Abstract
Background and Objectives: The zygoma implant has been designed for situations where there is insufficient bone in the upper jaw. The aim of this study is to present and validate a planning system for insertion of long implants in the pterygoid region, based on computed tomography (CT) imaging and use of customised drill guides, in cases which would otherwise require onlay or inlay bone grafts.
