Abstract

Long-chain tin(iv) alkanethiolates (Sn(SCnH2n+1)4, n ≥ 12) are disclosed as a class of van der Waals molecular crystals, which feature a layered structure, the coexistence of trans and gauche S–C bonds, and all-trans alkyl chains.
