Abstract

The Triumph of the Faith, a painted enamel in the Frick Collection, New York (Fig. 1),1 signed by Leonard Limosin (c. 1505–c. 1576), has never been published so far as is known. This is all the more surprising, since it is both an outstanding Catholic document of the Reformation period in France, and an important family portrait, the individual members of which may now be identified with a fair degree of accuracy.
