Abstract

A log-periodic loop antenna (LPLA) is proposed and analyzed numerically and experimentally. This antenna has smaller transverse dimensions than the conventional log-periodic dipole antenna with comparable radiation properties. Radiation characteristics of an LPLA with six turns and a ground reflector (GR) are presented. The results indicate that the LPLA can provide high gain and linear polarization over a wide bandwidth. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 27: 66–68, 2000.
