Abstract

In this paper, a log-domain filter design based on an impedance scaling technique of passive LC ladder structures is considered. To this end a general circuit for the simulation of any kind of two-terminal component, both grounded and floating, is presented. Depending on the kind of filter, the proposed technique can produce implementation advantages by reducing the number of required components. The validity of the approach is demonstrated through the simulation of a fifth-order LC ladder elliptic low-pass filter.
