Abstract

A method for the synthesis of doubly terminated lossless LC ladder filters employing second-generation current conveyors (CCIIs) is presented. This technique is realized via the linear transformation (LT), and is suitable for the design of high-order elliptic filters. LT active filters have the advantage that we can realize every section of the original ladder prototype by using active elements individually. Based on the LT, two simple and systematic design tables are given to realize high-order active filters efficiently. Using the proposed design tables, the synthesized elliptic filters employ minimum numbers of active elements and all grounded capacitors. Moreover, high-frequency linear transformation elliptic filters with minimum numbers of CCIIs and floating capacitors are also presented. As an example, the third-order elliptic lowpass filter is realized. Simulation results are obtained to verify the theoretical analysis.
