Abstract

Magnetic and transport measurements on heavy fermion compounds CeAl3, CeCu2Si2 and CeRu2Si2 are reported. Transport properties show that in CeRu2Si2, the f electron is more delocalized than in CeAl3 or CeCu2Si2. Magnetic data show the apparent cancellation of magnetic correlations for the CeAl3 and CeRu2Si2 compounds which have a nonmagnetic normal ground state; by contrast antiferromagnetic correlations lead to the decrease of the low temperature susceptibility of CeCu2Si2 which has a superconducting ground state.
