Abstract

National Metrology Institute of Turkey contributes to the ongoing worldwide scientific work on the realization of kilogram with an Oscillating-Magnet Kibble Balance experiment. The novel dynamical measurement procedure poses the advantage of being less sensitive to the environmental disturbances. Precise displacement measurements are vital to reach the required uncertainties in the realization experiments via Kibble balance. In traditional Kibble Balances, extreme precautions are taken for eliminating the environmental disturbances on the displacement measurements which results in global vacuum. In this paper, we show that in UME KB approach local vacuum chamber only around the mirror attached to the magnetic circuit is sufficient to reach the uncertainty required for the redefinition of the kilogram.
