Abstract

In order to improve the temperature rise test accuracy of composite insulator heating defect, the temperature curve character was analyzed and a local temperature rise calculation method based on the composite insulator temperature curve was constructed. It is found from the field heating composite insulator that temperature variations exist in un-heating section, which could lead to positive deviation when using temperature span as the temperature rise value. The temperature curve were decomposed and reconstructed by dmey wavelet to attain the low frequency component. The zero-crossing of the low frequency component gradient and the highest point of temperature curve were utilized for obtaining the heating area range of the temperature curve, then the calculation of local temperature rise of heating defect is realized. The verification calculation of actual heating case shows that compared with the temperature span, the local temperature rise of a considerable part of insulators can be reduced by nearly 20%.
