Abstract

I have photo-sensitive epilepsy, and my seizures can be triggered by strobe lighting or similar rapidly flashing lights, computer games and flat bed scanners. Around the age of ten, I began having a cluster of grand mal seizures. This obviously prompted my mother to take me to the doctor's and the local children's hospital and I was then diagnosed. I had regular hospital visits and tests during, and for some time after my diagnosis, between the ages of about ten up to 15. I attended my local children's hospital, where I saw a consultant, and my GP on a regular basis.
