Abstract
Whilst gynaecological cancer can affect women of any age, the majority of cases occur in post-menopausal women. Whilst there have been major improvements in care and survival for many gynaecological cancers, the impact of both the diagnosis and treatment has on an individuals capacity to return to normality is an area recognised to require a more holistic approach to care. To this end the NHS and charities have embarked programmes to redress this deficiency in care, and improve patients quality of life. The NHS Long Term Plan for Cancer states that “where appropriate every person diagnosed with cancer will have access to personalised care, including needs assessment, a care plan and health and wellbeing information and support”. The methods employed will be presented along with any relevant outcomes.
