Abstract

the paper examines the essential issue of Orthodox theology in dialogue with modern civilization: what contribution can the Orthodox Church make in solving the ecological problem, an alarming modern issue. Based on these foundations, the direction of the work begins with the essential elements of modern civilization and the modern view of man and the world, with a focus on the concrete consequences of this perspective. Pointing out the concrete consequences of modern man’s relationship with nature, in the second part of the paper the focus of the analysis is the question of a different approach brought by the Orthodox Church through its very existence, i.e., liturgical perspective and experience. All these elements of the work tend to indicate the urgency of the issue of man’s relationship with nature today, and to point to a different approach and a different ontology arising from the liturgical world view.
