Abstract
The data mining technique is used to transform raw data into useful information, which is carried out by recognizing the hidden patterns in the data. It is used in various sectors and fields such as education, marketing, fraud detection, manufacturing and health care. Educational Data Mining (EDM) is the Use of these techniques of data mining for data extraction from educational environment. Data mining in educational sector has widespread applications. Educational sector produces huge amount of student data which if analysed can be used for various purposes such as predicting the needs of students and evaluating their progress, also helping the institutions. We intend to compare all the techniques and algorithms used in various applications, thus assessing their efficiency.
