Abstract

The word esculpir as a metaphor expresses the relation between life and art, time and eternity in Unamuno's poetry and Ganivet's works. From this point of view, the article presents their common idea of autobiographic, symbolic and idealistic theater, as well as the technical differences in their dramatic construction. Ganivet's El escultor de su alma is specifically studied.
