Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper offers an overview of infant observation, parental reflective functioning, and the repair theory of human development as they apply to clinical work with families with young children. Using vignettes from the author’s practice of pediatrics and early relational health, it reveals the power of playing in the uncertainty to facilitate moments of connection and healing.
