Abstract
Liquid directional steering is not only rich in physical implications but also important for practical applications. Recently, in Science, Feng and coworkers designed and manufactured a 3D functional surface revealing that liquid directional steering can be controlled by both surface characteristics and liquid properties. Here, the significant and inspiring advances of the 3D functional surface for intelligent liquid control are highlighted, alongside remaining challenges and future directions.
